Potty- Training for your little is a HUGE milestone you should feel able to celebrate! Your child’s development has reached the point to begin working on some independence to work into their lifestyle, how exciting! I wanted to focus more today on some signs your child may be showing you to prove they are ready to start potty- training.
If you don’t know where to start when potty training… keep reading. We were able to bring in a very knowledgeable person when it comes to this stage for your littles life and we are so lucky! Jess from Rooted in Routine not only gave us all the extra helpful tips and tricks to add in to this blog, but we are able to use her as a great resource with the children we work with.
Each and every child and family are unique. Meaning that just because something worked for your best- friend when potty training her baby, doesn’t mean it will work for you, and that is okay! As a parent, you have a huge responsibility to judge when your little one is ready to begin this training. Here is 10 signs of readiness:
Is able to walk
Regular bowel movements
Urinates a normal amount in one time
Can have dry periods of time
Can pull their pants up by themselves
Does Not like the feeling of wearing a wet or dirty diaper
Shows interest in bathroom habits
Is interested in independence
Can follow simple instructions
Can understand physical signals with themselves of having to use the bathroom
These are just a few of the many signs that your baby may be showing you or showing you soon! We understand potty- training can be a big change, but it is a milestone that is rewarding for you and your little. If your baby is showing you these signs and you don’t know where to go from there… good news! Jess from Rooted in Routine who has the most helpful online course “Potty Training Bootcamp” has all the info!. We are so thankful to have a partner that allows us to be better at what we do and allows us to give parents the best resources! Check out her course blurb and testimonials.

“She is officially potty-trained! I implemented some of your verbiage and increased the books and videos about it and she caught on very quickly - followed by pooping as well! So happy about it. Thanks for your resources!”
- Rachel, mom to 2.5 year-old
